Unique Therapeutic Approach

Are you looking for music entertainment with a therapeutic approach? My therapeutic entertainment sessions are designed with specific therapy based goals in mind. They can also provide consistent tracking of progress and adapt to fit individual needs. I enjoy providing therapeutic music sessions for the elderly in a community setting (e.g. memory care, assisted living & independent living), in hospice and for children with special needs.

Nursing Homes

I specialize in music for the elderly in a community setting. I play piano and guitar, while basing each session on a theme that encourages reality orientation and reminiscence. I also focus on domains such as socialization, cognition, communication and sensory integration.

Gather your residents for a fun time of singing, playing and moving to music; while learning and reminiscing. Each session consists of a 60 minute music session. I am also available for longer sessions as needed. I encourage each community to commit to at least once a month because the residents will look forward to music time. It will also give me the opportunity to familiarize myself with each resident and learn their needs individually as well as a group. Sing- a-longs are also provided with guitar and piano accompaniment.

MUSIC SELECTION: The older songs such as "Let me Call you Sweetheart" and "Sidewalks of New York" are used on occasion as well as the more popular songs from Perry Como, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Elvis.

COST: $125-$150/hour session. $100-$125/hour session for back to back sessions at the same facility. I am willing to negotiate depending on the equipment that I will need to bring and/or travel distance.

Music Therapy Awareness

Music Therapy is one of the most underestimated forms of treatment that can be offered to the elderly and those with special needs. Can you imagine your world without music? Music is an enormous part of our lives and plays an important role in cognitive health.
